David Lim has been practicing and teaching contact improvisation since 2005. Having had participated in numerous workshops and festivals in countries such as the U.S., Germany, and Australia, his investigation into the form is influenced by the teachings of Nancy Stark Smith, Martin Keogh, Tim O’Donnell, Ray Chung, Joerg Hassman, Alejandro Rolandi, and also by other movement approaches such as the Alexander Technique, Body-Mind Centering, and Ideokinesis.

As a performer/choreographer, David’s works have been shown in various venues in Kuala Lumpur such as The National Visual Arts Gallery, MAP @ Publika, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center, The Actors Studio @ Lot 10, Central Market Annexe, Multimedia University, and also in the cities of Melaka, Yokohama, and Seoul. As a teacher, he has taught contact improvisation workshops in Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea.
