2 to 5 pm (two hours)
332 Camino del Monte Sol, Santa Fe, NM
This class is designed to be very welcoming to fresh, new beginners (in dance, or C.I. — either one) while also being engaging and beneficial to those with years of C.I. dance experience.
Mark Koenig has decades of Contact Improv dance and teaching experience, and is known to be a very talented, skillful, creative and sensitive teacher. He is also brilliant at offering Contact Improv classes in the spirit and manner of mindful somatics and MOSI practice. While Mark has long practiced C.I. as a form of mindfulness meditation, he has always designed classes for MOSI which can only be described as a deepening journey into mindful embodiment, this-moment presence and “radical empathy.”
Note the three hour class time. Our other classes and sessions usually run two hours, but we found that Mark’s class really does need more time to be complete and whole. You’ll be just amazed how quickly these hours pass!
MOSI is very excited to yet again offer this class to you within a gift economy. No fees. Voluntary donations of any size are welcome. We ask that those attending will please RSVP at the Meetup website, so we know how many people to expect. Thank you! It is okay to bring a friend or two, but do please include them as +1 or +2 when you RSVP.
