CI25 in Brazil

At this moment, in different parts of the world, people are celebrating this 25 years anniversary of Contact Improvisation. With Daniel Lepkoff, one of the most important collaboration of C.I. and also important in the diffusion of the technique through the world, together with Bruce Curtis, one of the founders of Mixedability and also Tica Lemos, the one who brought C.I. to Brazil, we are going to organize workshops, performances and events that will take place from September 26 th to October 11 th 1997. At this time, Brasilia will have the opportunity to receive, pay homage to, and celebrate with these professionals of the contemporary dance world, the 25 years of one of the most important technique that emerged in this century.

The event program will be divided in six parts that will happen between September 26th and October 11th, 1997:

Opening and intensive program from September 26th to 28th with:
- C.I. classes and techniques related to C.I. in 4 hours days.
- Mixed-ability class with Bruce Curtis.
- Conversations about themes related to C.I. or themes with similar philosophical thought.
- Demonstration, performances and jams.
- Video shows that will happen together with other events.
Physical Improvisation - workshop with Daniel Lepkoff from September 26 th to October 11th.
Mixed-ability workshop with Bruce Curtis from September 29 th to October 03rd.
Performance with Daniel Lepkoff to October 04th at 6 p.m.
Jam in homage of Tica Lemos, the one who brought C.I. to Brasilia and to Brazil, with the participation of Daniel Lepkoff and Bruce Curtis on October 05th at 7 p.m.
Closing party with invited artists from Brasilia and community on October 11th beginning at 11 p.m.
